Rawr! Happy 3rd Birthday!

Hey everyone. I went to a kid's party the last week and created this fun dinosaur theme card for the birthday boy.
To create this card, I started with a A2 size stitched rectangle panel and ink blended with distress inks and then spritzed it with water. Using the Chevron Fringe die, I die cut it out of three different cardstock colours and glued it to the panel.
Next, I stamped the images using memento tuxedo black in and coloured it in with copic markers. I didn't have a balloon die so I used a circle die and then glued a triangle piece at the bottom for the balloon tail. Then, I cut a stripe of turquoise cardstock and heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder. I attached all the images with glue and foam tape. That completes the card.

Heartfelt Thanks - Essentials by Ellen April Pin-Sights Challenge

Today, I made a quick card to enter the Ellen April Pin-Sights Challenge. The pin had such beautiful whimsical colours that I wanted to re-create on this card.
I used the ink smooshing technique with yellow, pink, purple and green distress inks to create the background on watercolor paper. It took a couple of tries and a blast of the heat gun to get the right splatters. In the same colour distress inks, I stamped the small dandelion from the Essentials By Ellen Bold Blooms stamp set on the bottom of the panel. With the larger dandelion image, I stamped it in the middle with versamark ink and used embossing powder and heat set it. I used the same embossing powder for the sentiment from Waffle Flower on black cardstock.
I die cut the watercolor panel with a rectangle stitched die and also cut stripes of gold foil cardstock for my border. To put together the card, I glued the gold foil stripes on the top and bottom of the card and then adhered the watercolor panel with double sided foam tape. Lastly, I attached the sentiment with foam squares and added some sequins.
