Welcome Baby Girl!

Today, I stepped out of my comfort zone to create a clean and simple card. For some reason, CAS cards makes me nervous leaving so much white space but I think on this card it worked out quite well. The baby sheep sitting in its wagon is so adorable.
To create this card, on white cardstock paper, I used an ink smooshing technique with distress inks in Worn Lipstick, Squeezed Lemonade, Wilted Violet.
While I let the background air dry, I stamped the images with Memento tuxedo black ink and coloured it in with copic markers. Then, I cut them out by hand since I don't have the coordinating dies and attached double sided foam tape on the back of the images.
Then, I stamped the sentiment and attached the images on the card. I made sure to stick the piece of string on the foam tape before attaching it to the card. It's so cute having the little ducks behind the wagon. For the final touches, I glued heart sequins and used wink of stella.
Materials used on the card:
- Mama Elephant - Rowdy Raccoons
- My Favorite Things - Ewe Are The Best
- Simon Says Stamp - Handwritten Borders
- Lawn Fawn - Love 'n Breakfast
Distress Inks in Worn Lipstick, Squeezed Lemonade, Wilted Violet
- Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black
- Staples White 110lbs Cardstock Paper
- Elmers Foam Sheet
- Copic Markers
- Sakura Gelly Roll in White
- Hampton Art Stamp Perfect
- Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue
- Scotch Advanced Tape Glider
- 3M Scotch 1/2" by 36 yard Double Sided Foam Tape

Have An Otterly Great Birthday!

I am back with another card that was inspired by Lawn Fawnatics first card challenge theme: happy birthday along with the colours for this week's Color Throwdown challenge: orange, turquoise and yellow. It features a really cute otter from Lawn Fawn's Year Five stamp set. I just love this stamp!
To create this card, I first stamped the images with memento tuxedo black ink and coloured them in with copic markers. Since I don't have the coordinating dies, I had to cut the images out myself. I also cut a slit on the front arm of the otter so that it looked like it was holding the presents. Next, I die cut two panels with the largest stitched rectangle from white cardstock paper. With one of the stitched rectangle panels, I die cut the waves using the Ocean Waves Trio die set. I did the same on vellum paper. Using the distress ink in Peacock Feathers, I did some ink blending on the edge of the wave and then splattered it with water drops.
Next was to create the sun ray background. To do this, I cut a triangle out of scrap cardstock and used it as a template to pivot around in a semi-circle on the center of the card to mark each sun ray on the other white stitched rectangle panel. Using post it notes as my mask, I did ink blending with distress inks in Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, Dried Marigold, Carved Pumpkin to create the sun rays.
Then I assemble the card together, first with gluing the coloured images with glue and the ocean waves. The top wave panel had a foam sheet behind it to give it some depth.
Lastly, the sentiment is heat embossed with clear embossing powder except for the word Otterly, I used a turquoise colour embossing powder instead so that it stands out. For the finishing touch, I added yellow and orange star sequins. That completes the card!

- Lawn Fawn - Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables

Happy Easter! Let's Paint...

Today, I like to share with you an Easter card inspired by the Muse challenge 207 that I will be participating in. The layout of the card is by a sketch from Rita for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge 279. I thought it would be a really cute card if the chick was painting a bunny on the egg and the bunnies are watching it from a distance.
To create this card, I first started off using my Kuretake Gansai Tambi to watercolor the center panel in a rainbow pattern. After it dried, I used Lawn Fawn's stitched border on the sides. Then, on lime green cardstock, I stamped happy easter using Lawn Fawn's Owen's ABCs stamp set with VersaMagic ink in Spring Pansy and then with my scissors I rounded the corners of each panel.
For the back panel, I stamped the grass from Lawn Fawn's Chirpy Chirp Chirp stamp set with different green colours of Memento inks. With the colour New Sprout I ink blended the bottom portion of the panel. I did the same for the sky using My Favorite Things Blue Breeze and Pink Lemonade. I also used the stitched border on the sides of the panel as well to match the centered watercolor panel.
Lastly, I stamped out the images from the Lawn Fawn Chirpy Chirp Chirp stamp set and the mini bunnies from the Simon Says Stamp My Kind of Peep stamp set. I used the double stamping method, first with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then with Versamark ink so that I can heat emboss it. I coloured the images with Copic markers and adhered it to the card with Tombow glue. Next, I attached the sentiment to the center watercoloured panel and used double sided foam tape to adhere it to card.  That completes the card.

Materials used on this card:
- Lawn Fawn - Owen's ABCs
- Lawn Fawn - Chirpy Chirp Chirp
- Lawn Fawn - Stitched Borders
- Simon Says Stamp - My Kind of Peep
My Favorite Things Inks in Blue Breeze, Pink Lemonade
- Memento Inks in Tuxedo Black, New Sprout, Bamboo Leaves, Pear Tart

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Make A Wish ...

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Today, I am sharing with you a pull tab slider card for this green festivity with a mix of a birthday surprise.
Pull up on the slider tab and a birthday cake appears.
To create this card, I first started with die cutting the rainbow and stamping out the yeti, presents, birthday cake and sentiment images and then heat set it with clear embossing powder. Using copic markers, I coloured the images and then added glossy accents for some additional depth.  The next set of images: the hat, bow tie, pot and clover leafs I used my cricut explore machine to help me cut them out of cardstock.
Afterwards, I worked on the panel that was die cut from the largest stitched rectangle die. I ran the stitched hill die through the big shot on the panel and then again on a piece of paper to create a mask. Then I used distress inks to blend the panel making sure I masked the bottom to ink blend the sky and masked the top portion to ink blend the grass.
Next, I cut out the sliding channel with a craft knife and die cut four small circles. I doubled up the circles by gluing them together so that it would be thicker and stable. I adhere both circles together with a piece of thin double sided tape and taped it vertically in the middle so that the sides could still open. The open sides will be slotted in the edges of the channel so that it can move freely up and down. I glued the cake onto the front of the circle and attached the pull tab on to the back.
After attaching the pull tab, I stamped the word pull up and glued the four-leaf clover on it. Then, I adhered the pot in its spot with double side foam tape so that the cake had clearance to slide freely. I attached the rest of the images on the card and finished it off with wink of stella on all the falling clovers and some small sequins.
I hope you enjoyed this card as much I had fun making it. Have a Happy Friday!

Oh Happy Day! - Ellen Hutson Mix It Up Challenge

Happy Tuesday everyone! Today, I was in the mood to colour using bright, warm, happy summer like colours. We had a snowstorm today so I just wanted to look forward to spring time weather (which technically arrives next week). It's a simple one dimensional card.
This card was motivated by the Ellen Hutson March Mix It Up Challenge: Paper Smooches. To participate in the challenge you have to use an Ellen Hutson and Paper Smooches product in your creation. This card combines the Essentials by Ellen Bold Blooms and Paper Smooches Artisan Blocks stamps. I first randomly stamped the honeycomb image with versamark ink and then applied clear embossing powder and heat set it. Then, I used the Artist's Loft brush markers and a water brush to colour each hexagon. I love how the colours just pop out.
Next, I used the rose image and sentiment from the Bold Blooms stamp set and stamped it with Versafine onyx black ink and applied black embossing powder and heat set it. The flower reminded me of the rose in Beauty and the Beast. To finish it off, I flicked little splatters of silver and gold watercolor from the Kuretake Gansai Tambi and adhere some large and small cupped sequins. That completes the card. I hope you liked it.

Friends Like You Are Rare - MFT Color Challenge 64

Hi everyone. I like to share with you a simple card that features the yeti from the MFT Beast Friends stamp set and the color combination inspired by the latest MFT Color Challenge.
For the challenge, we were inspired to use the following colours: yellow, blue, gray and black.
I started off with a panel cut out from the largest stitched square die then I used the MFT Geometric Grid background stamp with versamark ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then I blended it with Distress inks in Salty Ocean and Squeezed Lemonade.
The images were stamped and coloured in with copic markers. I cut the images out by hand and put double sided foam tape on the back. Then I used wink of stella and glossy accents on the tree and cup. The sentiment was heat embossed with white embossing powder on a black rectangle cardstock. To complete the card, I added some sequins.
This will also be entered in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Make your own background. You can click on the badge to learn more about it.

Thank You For Bee-ing There

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. It went by so quickly but I was able to finish this card featuring a little honey bee. oh it's so adorable.

The layout is from the current Freshly Made Sketches Challenge and I also added a tag onto the card to participate in the SimonSaysStamp Wednesday Challenge. But more importantly, I wanted to try my new markers. I bought the new Artist's Loft brush markers that are supposed to be dupes of the Zig clean color real brush markers. I don't own any zig markers so I couldn't really compare but I have to admit the AL brand is not too bad. After trying them, I want more colors to add to the collection. 12 isn't enough. :)

To create the card, I started off die cutting a scalloped rectangle panel from watercolor paper. Then using a stamp position tool I used SSS Sketch Ranunculus to build my flower scene. I stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink first and then stamped it again with Versamark ink so that I can heat emboss it with clear powder.
Next was the fun part. I used my new Artist's Loft brush markers and Sakura's water brush to colour in the images. Then, I used a portion of a sentiment from MFT Cool Cat stamp set and heat embossed it on black cardstock so it would really stand out. I cut an A2 size rectangle panel from dark purple cardstock and used a border die to give it some interest.
After all the elements were complete, I used the tag die to diecut from the floral panel and used double sided foam tape to prop it up. I did the same to the bee, heart and sentiment. Last finishing touches are adding the wink of stella and glossy accents.

I hope you enjoyed this card as much as I had fun making it.
